To Whom It May Concern,
It has been brought to my attention that California buys crude
oil from sources in the Amazon basin to be refined in our state and
sold. This certainly seems to go against what our state has
voted for; which is strong climate action to help stem the worst
due to our planet's rapid overheating! I find it hard to believe
that our Governor touts progressive climate policies and yet allows
companies to do exactly the opposite of what they should, which is
stop importing oil, especially from such an important ecological
area like the Amazon, and stop refineries from polluting
California's coasts. I would urge you to prohibit any more
Amazonian oil imports. California Must be a climate change problem
solver, not a state that adds to global heating!
