Hello
everyone, my name is Yuritza Ventura, I am a resident of Oxnard,
and I am a youth leader with the non-profit CAUSE. I am speaking on
the CARB Scoping Plan. I traveled 400 miles from my EJ community of
Oxnard to speak at this meeting because CARB recommended
Alternative 3 that would permit for all existing gas generators to
continue existing and continue to be active. This plan will also
allow for 10 GW to be added by 2045. This will be harmful to the
people who live in EJ communities as there are. already 160 gas
plants in the EJ communities. This would concentrate generation in
Ej communities such as my community, Oxnard, which already has its
fair share of gas-fired generators. I deeply care about this as
people I love and care for; friends, family, and the community
would and will be affected and impacted negatively by this. The
health of my community is at risk. We need CARB to create the road
to zero emissions for the health of both our people and our planet.
