Hello my name is Angeles Garcia im a
resident of Oxnard and a youth leader with the non-profit CAUSE and
I'm speaking on the carb scoping plan. I traveled 400 miles here to
speak at this meeting because carb wants to keep using fossil fuels
and are recommending alternative 3 which includes an additional 10
gigawatt buildout. This harms our communities lungs and overall
health. The reason why i care about this issue so much is because
for a while my mom suffered with lung related problems. She
couldn’t even laugh without coughing. Our cities air quality
didn’t help at all, it made it worse. In the carb
scoping plan i am asking the board to make a plan for more
clean cars, trucks, and mass transit for the working class.
Transition to 100% zero-emission vehicles by 2035 and lower the
amount of vehicle miles traveled by 30% by 2035. Again this is
highly important because our communities cant wait any longer.
