Hello my name is Stephanie Garcia I am a
resident of Oxnard and a youth leader with the non profit cause.
I’m speaking on the carb scoping plan. I traveled 400 miles
here to talk in this meeting because CARB needs to create more
plans to stop the environmental injustices in our state. The reason
why I care so much about this is because I often go running by the
port of oxnard. That port is constantly polluting the air and I'm
worried about not only my health but our community's health. I am
asking for a transition to clean, renewable, zero-emissions
electricity by 2035 with retirement of all gas plants and no new
gas plants. Stopping all new gas plants in all the alternatives.
This is extremely important because the decisions that the
California Air Resources Board makes now will determine whether my
family and I have a safe and healthy future in our community.
