The latest science makes it absolutely clear that we have a
very, very narrow window for avoiding climate catastrophe.
California is in a powerful and very good position to make real and
meaningful changes. Please listen to science and
the IPCC AND PLEASE ACCELERATE YOUR TIMELINES TO 2030 instead of
2035-2045. These changes are mandated by AB 32 as well as our
state's other commitments to reduce emissions and meet our
environmental justice goals. We need to make real commitments to
reducing reliance on fossil fuels including electrification,
microgrids, renewable energy (including wind and solar), and other
positive steps away from fossil fuel infrastructure, in place of
relying on risky and unproven strategies like carbon capture that
prolong our dependence on fossil fuels.
