While I appreciate the obvious hard work that went into creating
the 2022 Climate Change Scoping Plan, it should be much more
ambitious. From a technical standpoint, it should be quite
do-able for California to be carbon neutral by 2030. Let's
cut some slack and say we should aim to be carbon neutral by
2035.
Dr. Daniel Kammen at UC Berkeley can explain the technical
details to any level required, I strongly urge the Board to hear
what Dr. Kammen has to say on this matter. He is literally
the foremost expert on California's carbon emissions, and can be
reached via his university home page at
http://kammen.berkeley.edu/.
Again, I appreciate the good work of the Board, but we can do
far better than carbon neutral by 2045 - and it's not even that
hard. Let's do what California does best, and lead the
world!
