I am writing to stress my deep opposition and concern with this
proposition. I am a person who cares about the environment and
wants to leave a healthy planet for my children. I feel this way
and personally do not mind having my tires inspected—this is a
personal choice. That is not the issue. The issue is with your
organization trying to criminalize not complying with your
standards. It is one thing to launch an information campaign to
try to raise awareness and persuade cooperation. That is fine. It
is a completely different thing to try and fine and even possibly
incarcerate a person because of something as insignificant as not
wanting to have their tires checked or having the burden of
providing proof that a check was or will be done. This idea is
another example of how out of touch and authoritative our country
and state has become. We are Americans, not cattle. Inform the
people of the hazards, give them the all of the facts and let them
decide. Stop the bureaucracy, end the madness. This is just
another encroachment by our ever growing government and it is time
to just say enough is enough! If your arguments are compelling
enough the people will conform, if not, maybe the case is not as
strong as you believe. Either way the choice should be ours, NOT
YOURS.

Respectfully,
Carlos A. Proano
