SubjectComment Against Proposed Regulation

Given the monumental issues facing the state, let alone the
country, at this time, it is positively irresponsible to go forward
with legislation such as this.

The impact that under inflated tires has on greenhouse gas
emissions is miniscule. This of course assumes that the greenhouse
gas theory is proven to be true.

That any legislative body would spend its time on such minutia
angers me to no end. I happen to absolutely love the state of
Califonia and often find that I must defend our sometimes
inconvenient laws and uncomfortable taxes to others who live
outside the state. After all, they simply don't know what they are
missing. A little inconvenience is easy to put up with for the
priviledge of living in such a beautiful state. This proposed
regulation however is beyond rediculous and indefensible! That
anyone would think it is a good idea to severly fine or jail people
for having low tire pressure is asinine.

There is absolutely no way that I see to even effectively monitor
this propsed legislation. Will those checking tires be required to
have some type of certification to ensure they are properly
executing their jobs.

All a regulation like this serves to do is further burden the
citizens of California and those that try to do business in this
state. Why, given our economic situation would you attempt to make
doing business in California even more difficult and expensive?
Particularly, in light of the fact that this legislation will do
NOTHING to assist in the reduction of greenhouse gases.

Stop this rediculousness immediatey and get to the business of
creating rational and meaningful change in the state of California.
