Comment | Forcing undo hardship and punitive damages upon an industry that routinely steps up to help California reduce toxic waste and ensure public safety is a slap in the face to the 100,000's of employees and small business owners in California. Holding small business's liable for the behavior of motorists is bad public policy. Not only will you create resentment between the public and the Automotive Aftermarket, you will also create a financial egulatory burden (which will be past on to consumers) upon those businesses. A better aproach would be to be to let industry work with CARB on a motorist information campaign explaining the dangers of old worn out tires and proper maintenace recommendations. Our highways would be safer and the air would be cleaner. Respectfully Glenn Davis - Owner GDA Enterprises, Upland Ca ASCCA State President 2009 |
