Comment:
I attended the workshop in SF this week, and it was very well organized - thanks. The Port of Oakland's seaport has been busy implementing shore power. A major milestone, and hopefully money well spent to control diesel emissions locally, and global climate change. This is in addition to everything else the seaport must do. As a homeowner, I found myself changing my priority during the meeting for home repairs from re-doing the kitchen floor to installing new windows in the living room. Money is less of a concern then how to go about getting this done. My suggestion therefore is to focus the public on ONE PRIORITY for perhaps two of the five years of the scoping plan. For windows, CARB/BAAQMD could provide homeowners with local contractors, options, costs, and other information to make it as easy as possible to implement. Homeowners could plan ahead for this work which will be costly, and contractors could market customers for this work.
