Subject: Innovative Clean Transit (June 11 draft proposed regulation)
Comment:
I am writing to support the June 11, 2018 draft proposed Innovative
Clean Transit regulation. I work at UCLA, where my office overlooks
the Ackerman bus turnaround at the north end of Westwood Boulevard.
I have already noticed the improvement in the campus environment
air quality and noise due to the BruinBus fleet's retirement of its
last diesel buses and its introduction of a few battery-powered
buses in fall 2016. UCLA and other transit authorities should
continue to transition to battery and/or fuel-cell electric buses
as soon as possible. Our lungs and our climate are too precious to
waste, and as a Californian with three California children I urge
you to pass these regulations, for our children's benefit as well
as our own.
