My name is Monda Byrd, Vice President of MTS Solutions in Bakersfield, CA. We are an oilfield service company. The oil and gas industry is the economic engine of this community. During the recent downturn in the industry, there were so many families devastated financially, moved out of state and dealt with some real-time issues from losing jobs. The proposal to cut oil production which is still feeling the repercussions of the last recession does not make sense, and what feels like a state working in cooperation with an industry, it feels like the state works against it. We work hard and just want to provide a good life for our families. Shutting down the oil and gas industry would not only hurt our pocketbooks - it would hurt the fabric of our community. It is my sincere hope that you will take this view point into consideration as you evaluate any next steps you might take. Sincerely, Monda
