I'm opposed to any plans to reduce or destroy California's
chaparral. It is already stressed due to climate change and
increased frequency of fires which is resulting in a permanent
alteration of plant communities. The weeds that replace chaparral
following frequent fires are more flammable than native plants.
Instead, require power companies to bury their transmission lines
and home owners to harden their houses. Provide funds to help those
who can't afford to do the necessary work.
