I object to CARB's plan to merge conifer forests together with shrublands (chaparral and coastal sage scrub) in the baseline strategy to manage our natural lands for wildfire, carbon sequestration, and climate change. The combined habitat (forest and shrublands) scenarios are flawed and may lead to destructive management practices. Please withdraw the flawed scenarios and provide a separate category for shrublands. I also ask CARB to consult with recognized outside experts on appropriate management strategies for shrublands separate from conifer forests.
