Comment:
The Atmospheric carbon would reach dangerous, irreversible levels before the infrastructure is built which itself uses fossil fuels and the sequestration uses fossil fuels. Carbon capture would pollute and increase the price of fossil fuels in the short term which would create poverty in EJ communities leading to an increased Covid death rate. The recent deficiencies in monitoring programs and maintenance that led to the explosion of Aliso Canyon Gas Storage, and the Ventura Compressor station lead me to predict a similar accident with the Salt Cavern storage. Also, carbon leaks during transport to the storage. There are so many incidents of leaking oil wells that they nevershould be used for storage of carbon. We still need to pass a bill forbidding the use of this carbon for oil extraction.
