We would respectfully request allocation of some of the VW settlement funds for hydrogen station technician training, public education, and accelerating the construction of new hydrogen fueling infrastructure. At Cal State LA Hydrogen Research & Fueling Facility, we are employing student engineers (approx. 10) to study, operate and repair hydrogen fueling equipment. We have also given educational tours to approximately 15,000 members of the public, all while fueling FCEV vehicles. Notably, Cal State LA Hydrogen made the first sale of hydrogen by the kilogram in world history to Volkswagen, having received the first type approved dispenser certification by DMS just weeks earlier.
