Please support and direct VW, through its subsidiary Electrify America, to move forward with the Charge Bliss Zero net Energy Community project for the City of Carson http://www.energy.ca.gov/contracts/GFO-15-312/ as part of the city's plant to satisfy the Consent Decrees with the California Air Resources Board (CARB). This city is precisely the type of community to which this decree is prioritized with its low air quality and economically disadvantaged. This project is to include 60 charging devices for multi-unit dwellings, workplace, and destination charging, and up to three locations for multiple DC fast charging devices. Additionally, "Drive and Ride" events will be organized to provide incentives at schools and car hailing services throughout the city to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles. The project will also incorporate solar systems, energy storage systems (batteries), and load management, all to mitigate any energy demands that the installation of a large, new EV charging system would incur. This is a critical project for all parties concerned, because the installment of this infrastructure will serve a disadvantaged community, improve EV adoption, incorporate renewable energy and load management, and satisfies the Consent Decree of CARB.
