Other commenters have reerred to a concept that I also support -- Commuter Rail that has lower emissions and higher efficiency. My comment is to direct you to that concept. See comment number 24, by Dave Cook, and its attachment. I hope you give it serious consideration since its time has come and state support is needed to bring its benefits to economic justice areas more quickly. It's got something for everyone. I especially like that it would eliminate diesel particulate from commuter rail right-of-ways and would save the state millions in subsidies to commuter rail. I think you will also appreciate its large greenhouse gas benefits. Commuters will like its higher performance (faster accelerations and shorter times between stops). |
