I am writing regarding the agencies recent issuance of two policies, Vibrant Communities and the Discussion Document around Vehicle Miles Traveled. With the introduction of both on September 14, 2016, there has been a very short window for the review and public comment periods. With significant impacts to several different industries stemming from the visions, strategies and actions included in the white paper documents, it is crucial that the public is given the opportunity to review the said forth policies. At this time, I am requesting an extension for public comment to be made as the timing of these releases are less than transparent, especially because the Legislature is currently on recess and a minimal two-week window of time was provided. I urge the agencies to reach out to engage both the public and legislature, and follow the fair and normal rule making processes. Thank you for your consideration. Zach |
