The overarching concern is the lack of available technology and the cost associated with the recommendations. 1) Use of Medium/Heavy Duty Hybrid Vehicles: The bucket trucks currently run an extra $40-50K per unit. 2) Low emission fuel / oils: Currently these are not readily available, nor does existing infrastructure support them. 3) Federal or State funding would be needed in order to help cities comply with the equipment upgrades. |
