As cities begin to consider the inclusion of small urban villages within their communities as a way of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, funding needs to be made available to all cities, large and small, as incentives for creating such developments that include affording housing for lower income families. This needs to be balanced with the development of parks and open green space in all communities. There needs to be more discussion in the draft plan on the role parks can play dealing with climate change. I appreciate the recommendations being offered to local governments in doing their part to address global warming and climate change. |
