Since almost half of the vehicle trips are less than two miles, a significant effort should be put into promoting, planning for and securing funds for active transportation modes (bicycling, walking and public transportation) This effort should also include adoption of the complete streets concept for new and existing roadways complemented by smart or sustainable land use patters that encourage active transportation modes. |
