We are not sure why non-sequestration projects are undervalued (limited life time of ten years plus one renewal) versus sequestration projects (potentially unlimited lifetime). The reduction of carbon by sequestration or utilizing new approaches that do not generate GHG in the first place achieve the same environmental benefit. If anything, we as a society may wish to incentivize projects that do not generate GHG (replacing those that do) in order to move our state to a new green economy. |
