It is well known that transportation is the single largest source of global warming pollution in California and the nation, surpassing emissions from power plants. Vehicle electrification is critical to achieving California's climate goals. Cars and trucks that are fueled by an increasingly renewable electricity grid pollute less and stave off the worst effects of climate change. EVs are cheaper and easier to maintain than their gas-powered counterparts and save money on fuel while also avoiding fluctuations in gas prices. The California Air Resources Board will be meeting on March 24th to review the state's Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) program. It should keep, if not enhance, strong incentives for consumers to make more electric vehicle (EV) choices. This is a wise investment in our future. PLEASE retain this program! |
