Air Resources Board (ARB or Board) staff invites interested parties to participate in a public workshop on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 to discuss potential amendments to the Cap-and-Trade Regulation (Regulation) and Regulation for the Mandatory Reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions (MRR). Date: Tuesday, February 14, 2017 Time: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm Place: Byron Sher Auditorium CalEPA Headquarters Building 1001 I Street Sacramento, California 95814 Webcast: https://video.calepa.ca.gov/ Purpose of Workshop ARB will hold a workshop on February 14 to continue the public process of the 2016 amendments to the Regulation and MRR. The workshop will cover staff’s proposed changes to the Regulation in response to comments received on the first 15-day regulatory proposal and further discussion of the proposed MRR verification deadline, other verification requirements, and electric power entity reporting issues. Staff materials for the workshop will be made available at 4:00 pm Pacific time on Thursday, February 9, 2017. All materials will be posted at http://www.arb.ca.gov/cc/capandtrade/meetings/meetings.htm. Following the workshop, stakeholders will have an opportunity to provide written comments during an informal comment period which will conclude at 5:00 pm Pacific time on Thursday, February 23, 2016. A link to provide comments will be available after the workshop at http://www.arb.ca.gov/cc/capandtrade/meetings/meetings.htm. All interested stakeholders are invited to attend. Background The Board first formally adopted the Regulation in October 2011, and subsequently approved limited amendments to the Regulation in June 2012, October 2013, April 2014, September 2014, and most recently June 2015. The 2016 amendments seek to improve Program efficiency, update the Regulation using the latest information, and chart post-2020 implementation of the Program.
