ordiesel -- Reporting Tool for Off-Road Diesel Rule Released

Posted: 04 Sep 2008 09:58:27
The online reporting tool for the off-road diesel vehicle
regulation, the Diesel Off-road On-line Reporting System
(DOORS), is now available. Fleets may use this tool to report
diesel vehicles that are covered by the off-road regulation to
ARB, and receive Equipment Identification Numbers (EINs) for
their vehicles.

The reporting tool is available on our reporting homepage at:
https://secure.arb.ca.gov/ssldoors/doors_reporting/reporting.php

Reporting will be required beginning next spring, but ARB staff
strongly encourages fleets to report early. Fleets that report
now and receive EINs will still have up to 30 days after their
reporting deadline in 2009 to label their vehicles. Fleets that
do not report until their reporting deadline next spring will
have only until 30 days after they receive their EINs to label
their vehicles.

Additionally, staff is currently available to assist fleets on a
personal basis with reporting and compliance strategies, but may
not have the resources to assist each fleet individually as the
reporting deadlines approach.

Fleet owners do not need every piece of information required by
the regulation to begin reporting. They may report their fleet
to ARB and receive EINs without complete information, and may
add, delete, or edit the information they reported to ARB up to
the reporting deadline in 2009. ARB staff recommends that
fleets create an online account with the DOORS system and begin
collecting information even if they do not plan to report for
several months.
