The Air Resources Board (ARB) announces the release of the
Climate Change Proposed Scoping Plan.
This plan is a key step in the implementation of AB 32, the
California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006. AB 32 requires
ARB to prepare and adopt a Scoping Plan that provides strategies
to reduce GHG emissions to 1990 levels by 2020. ARB must
approve the Plan no later than January 1, 2009.
In June the Air Resources Board released a draft plan. The
proposed plan released today reflects additional analysis,
expertise, and public input that ARB has received over the past
several months.

The Proposed Scoping Plan will go to the California Air
Resources Board for consideration in December 2008.
