At its November 5 and 6, 2008 AB 118: Air Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) public workshops, ARB staff discussed including incentives for hybrid medium- and heavy-duty vehicles as part of its FY 2009-10 AQIP Funding Plan. ARB staff will hold an AQIP Medium- and Heavy-Duty Vehicle Incentives Working Group meeting on January 13th, 2009 in Sacramento to discuss possible frameworks for such an incentive program. Goals of the meeting include: * To discuss possible concepts regarding program eligibility, implementation, and administration. * To elicit public feedback regarding possible AQIP incentive amounts for eligible vehicles. * To hear from medium- and heavy-duty hybrid vehicle manufacturers, vendors, and other stakeholders regarding vehicle technologies, costs, and barriers to commercialization. This working group meeting shall be held at the following time and location: Date: January 13, 2009 Time: 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Location: CalEPA Building, Conference Room 450 1001 I Street, Sacramento, CA This will be an informal meeting, open to all interested stakeholders. An RSVP is not required. ARB also encourages participants to phone in to the meeting if unable to attend in person. A meeting call-in number and passcode shall be sent to this AQIP listserve several days prior to the meeting along with any meeting handouts. ARB shall also hold a fifth and final public workshop to discuss development of the AQIP Guidelines and FY 2009-10 Funding Plan in early February. ARB shall be sending out a workshop notice with specific dates for this workshop in early January.
