February 24, 2009 BAR Workshop Notice Regarding Diesel Vehicle Smog Check. We have posted the following document in advance of an additional workshop scheduled for February 24, 2009 (in Diamond Bar) concerning the Bureau of Automotive Repair's diesel test procedures to bring diesel vehicles in the Smog Check program per the Assembly Bill 1488 mandate: (1) The vehicles affected by this mandate include 1998 and subsequent model year diesel vehicles weighing less than 14,000 GVWR. The workshops will discuss three topics: (1) diesel-powered vehicle Smog Check inspection procedures; (2) Smog Check station performance standards; and (3) Smog Check station and technician licensing options.
