The California Air Resources Board has revised TRU Advisory 08-15 (Rev 2)- Six Month Grace Period. The California Air Resources Board (ARB) has revised TRU Advisory 08-15. This advisory discusses ARB’s six-month administrative enforcement grace period for the first phase of the Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU) Airborne Toxic Control Measure’s (ATCM) in-use performance standards. The grace period for model year 2001 and older TRU engines ends July 17, 2009. Questions related to this grace period are answered. A new Q&A was added to address what owners and operators should do if they are taking advantage of the grace period and cannot get an ARB Identification Number (IDN) from ARB for a noncompliant unit by the March 16, 2009, registration deadline.
