tru -- CARB verifies Dinex DiSiC (Level 3 Plus) diesel particulate filter

Posted: 26 May 2009 16:53:00
The California Air Resources Board (ARB) has verified the Dinex
DiSiC (Level 3 Plus) diesel particulate filter for use on most
trailer TRUs using 1999 through 2005 model year engines. ARB has
verified the Dinex DiSiC (Level 3 Plus) diesel particulate
filter, which can be used to comply with the Low-Emission
Transport Refrigeration Unit (LETRU) and Ultra-Low Emission
Transport Refrigeration Unit (ULETRU) In-Use Performance
Standards on most trailer TRUs using 1999 through 2005 model year
engines. Compliance information related to the Transport
Refrigeration Unit (TRU) Airborne Toxic Control Measure is
available at: http://www.arb.ca.gov/diesel/tru.htm
The Dinex DiSiC consists of a catalyzed silicon carbide filter
substrate in a filter assembly module, inlet, outlet, exhaust
tubes, flexible parts, mounting brackets, and insulation. An
electronic monitoring system measures and logs exhaust
temperature, backpressure, and alarms. The warning system
includes a series of LED lights to provide backpressure warning
for filter cleaning. TRU owners should read about the specific
conditions for which the DiSiC has been approved in the Executive
Order (EO), which will be posted within a few days on ARB’s
Verification Procedure – Level 3 webpage at
http://www.arb.ca.gov/diesel/verdev/level3/level3.htm. Specific
engine models and families that apply are listed in the EO’s
attachment, also listed at that webpage. Diesel Emissions
Specialists (DES) is the exclusive marketing agent for Dinex
Exhausts’ DiSiC. DES can be reached at 1-888-SKY-FLTR
