Cuatro hojas nuevas proporcionando información sobre las nuevas
normas de emisiones, los procedimientos de pruebas y los
requisitos para la flota con montacargas y otros equipos
industriales activados con motores grandes de combustión interna
(Large Spark Ignition – LSI) ahora están disponibles en español. 
 Las hojas nuevas en español se puede encontrar en

ayudaran a los concesionarios de equipos y operadores de
flotillas quienes hablan español a entender mejor la regulación y
sus requisitos.

 

El reglamento (Large Spark Ignition – LSI) establece normas más
estrictas de certificación de emisiones de hidrocarburos (HC) y
óxidos de nitrógeno combinados para los fabricantes de motores y
procedimientos de verificación para los fabricantes de sistemas
modernizados para el control de emisiones.  El reglamento también
establece normas de niveles de emisión para el promedio de la
flota, que se vuelven más estrictos con el tiempo, para los
operadores de flotillas medianas y grandes con en-uso
fuera-de-la-carretera montacargas (forklifts),
barredoras/limpiadoras industriales (industrial
sweeper/scrubbers), tractores remolcadores industriales y equipo
de apoyo terrestre (GSE). La manera más rápida para que una
flotilla reduzca su promedio de flotilla es eliminar por etapas
los equipos sin control.  Los equipos sin control pueden
someterse a una modernización, la reactivación con un motor que
cumpla con los requisitos o el reemplazo con un equipo controlado
nuevo o usado.

Four new fact sheets providing information on the New Emission
Standards, Test Procedures, and Fleet Requirements for Large
Spark-Ignition (LSI) Engine Forklifts and Other Industrial
Equipment (the LSI Regulation) are now available in Spanish.  The
new Spanish language fact sheets can be found at

http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/offroad/orspark/factsheets.htm and
will assist equipment dealers and fleet operators who speak
Spanish to better understand the LSI regulation and what is
required of them.  

 

The LSI Regulation establishes more stringent combined
hydrocarbon and oxides of nitrogen emission certification
standards for engine manufacturers and verification procedures
for manufacturers of retrofit emission control systems. The
regulation also establishes fleet average emission level
standards that become more stringent with time for operators of
medium and large fleets of in‑use off‑road LSI
forklifts, industrial tow tractors, industrial sweeper/scrubbers,
and airport ground support equipment.  The quickest way for a
fleet to reduce its fleet average is to phase out any
uncontrolled equipment.  Uncontrolled equipment may be addressed
through retrofit, repower with a complying engine, or replacement
with a new or used controlled piece of equipment.
