Governor Trims Red Tape For Energy Projects. Gov. Arnold
Schwarzenegger on Monday signed a state law that he and federal

energy developers to pay fees to compensate for wildlife habitat
destroyed during construction, rather than having to acquire
replacement land. Posted.

excellent reports are on the Internet: 1) The Nongovernmental
International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC), and 2)

the Oregon Institute. Posted.

In Response to California Fuel Regulation, Cargo Ships Chart
More Precarious Routes. In an apparent effort to skirt a new
clean-fuel regulation in California, an increasing number of
ships traveling to and from one of the nation’s busiest port
complexes — at Los Angeles and Long Beach — are abandoning a
long-established shipping lane, choosing instead to travel along
a riskier route that traverses a Navy weapons testing and
training area. Posted.
