4 Calif. rail yards may face emission reductions. LOS
ANGELES—State air regulators this week are expected to consider
voluntary emission reductions over the next decade at four rail
yards in Southern California. Since 2005 the state has
significantly cut pollution from rail yards and the latest
proposal could reduce emission levels by more than 130 tons by
2020, according to California Air Resources Board spokeswoman
Karen Caesar. The board is expected to take up the issue

CARB Approves FirstCarbon Solutions as GHG Verification Body.
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has accredited First
Carbon Solutions of West Chester, Pa., as a greenhouse gas (GHG)
verification body for the state’s AB 32 program. Under Executive
Order H-10-196, the company is certified to verify GHG
inventories for approximately 700 facilities that are currently
