schoolbus -- Public Workshops Sept. 30-Oct. 12 That Will Include Proposed School Bus Regulatory Language Changes

The California Air Resources Board (ARB) invites you to participate in a final series of public workshops to discuss the proposed amendments to several regulations. These discussions will include the proposed school bus regulatory language changes and we would like to ensure you have the opportunity to participate. Workshop information is available below and at: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/mailouts/msc1040/msc1040.pdf The regulations to be discussed include the In-Use Off-Road Diesel Fueled Fleets (off-road regulation), the In-Use Heavy-Duty Diesel-Fueled Vehicles Regulation (truck and bus regulation), the In-Use On-Road Diesel-Fueled Heavy-Duty Drayage Trucks Regulation (drayage truck regulation), and the Off-Road Large Spark-Ignition Engine Fleet Requirements (LSI fleet regulation). The workshops will be held on the following dates at the following four locations: Sacramento (will also be webcast) Date: Thursday, September 30, 2010 Time: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Location: Air Resources Board Byron Sher Auditorium 1001 I Street Sacramento, California 95814 El Monte Date: Monday, October 4, 2010 Time: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Location: Air Resources Board Auditorium, Annex 4 9530 Telstar Avenue El Monte, California 91731 San Diego Date: Tuesday, October 5, 2010 Time: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Location: San Diego County Administration Center 1600 Pacific Highway San Diego, California 92101 Fresno (with live video feed to SJVAPCD Modesto and Bakersfield offices) Date: Tuesday, October 12, 2010 Time: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Location: San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD) 1990 E. Gettysburg Fresno, California 93726 The Sacramento workshop will be webcast, and live video feed has been setup for alternative locations to telecast the Fresno workshop. ARB staff plans to present the same information at each of these four workshops. At these workshops, staff will be soliciting input on the revised proposed amendments to the off-road, truck and bus, and drayage truck regulations. Staff will also provide information on the revised emissions benefits expected from the regulations based on the new regulatory proposals. Additionally, staff will be soliciting input on amendments to the LSI fleet regulation, which include continuing the limited hours of use exemption, lengthening the duration of compliance extensions, and some minor clarifying amendments.
