motorcycle1 -- Exempted Aftermarket Critical Emission Control Parts for Highway Motorcycles
Posted: 24 Jan 2011 14:18:11
The Air Resources Board (ARB) has posted a list (see link below) of motorcycle aftermarket critical emission control parts that have received an exemption from California's anti-tampering laws. http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermkt/motorcycle1/exempthmc.pdf An aftermarket critical emission control part is one that replaces an original motorcycle part designed primarily for the reduction of emissions. Examples include catalytic converters and oxygen sensors. The parts/devices on this list have complied with the "California Evaluation Procedures for Aftermarket Critical Emission Control Parts on Highway Motorcycles," adopted January 22, 2009, and are therefore legal for sale and installation in the state. The list can also be accessed from ARB's main webpage for motorcycle aftermarket parts: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermkt/motorcycle1/motorcycle1.htm If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Dean Hermano at dhermano@arb.ca.gov
