schoolbus -- LESBP 2011 Model Year Emission Standards Required for Program Funding – Eligible School Bus Engines will not Change for 2011
Posted: 27 Jan 2011 12:04:55
Lower-Emission School Bus Program (LESBP) staff has posted Mail-out #MSC 11-02 regarding the emission standards that replacement school buses must meet to be eligible for funding in Calendar Year 2011. ARB staff reviewed the executive orders for 2011 MY school bus engines and has determined most manufacturers continue to utilize the current emission standards of 0.50 grams per brake horsepower/hour (g/bhp-hr ) for NOx (Oxides of Nitrogen). Therefore, the emission standards for replacement school buses being funded through the LESBP will remain at 0.50 g/bhp-hr for NOx family emission limit (FEL) and 0.01 g/bhp-hr for particulate matter (PM) throughout Calendar Year 2011. Eligibility based on emission standards will be evaluated and updated at the staff level by the end of the first quarter of each year. This Mail-out can be found at the LESBP Advisories/Mail-outs page, here is a link: http://www.arb.ca.gov/bonds/schoolbus/advisory/advisory.htm For more information about the LESBP, please go to: http://www.arb.ca.gov/bonds/schoolbus/schoolbus.htm If you have any questions, please contact Janet Page, jpage@arb.ca.gov or at 916-324-1988 .
