harp -- A new HARP Health Database is now available
Posted: 03 Feb 2011 11:49:22
This database contains updated health values for polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs), dibenzofurans (PCDFs), and dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). The new health values have been revised to reflect the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment‘s adoption of the World Health Organization’s 2005 Toxicity Equivalency Factors for PCDDs, PCDFs, and dioxin-like PCBs . The new HARP Health Database can be downloaded at http://www.arb.ca.gov/toxics/harp/software/health.mdb. To use it with HARP, you must replace your current health database located in the HARP main directory (typically C:HARP) with the one you just downloaded. The new health database is also available for the HARP On-Ramp. It can be downloaded at http://www.arb.ca.gov/toxics/harp/software/onramp/health.mdb. To use this health database, you must replace the current database typically located at “C:Program FilesCARBHARP On-RampTables” with this one. Please note that it is not necessary to update HARP On-Ramp’s Health Database as the new health values for PCDDs, PCDFs, and dioxin-like PCBs are not used by the HARP On-Ramp. However, if you decide to update the database, it would be only for display purposes (i.e., showing the current health values).
