Staff presentations, draft regulatory language, and agenda are now available for the workshop to discuss proposed amendments to the cargo handling equipment (CHE) regulation. The materials can be downloaded from the CHE website at the following link: http://www.arb.ca.gov/ports/cargo/meet.htm You are invited to attend the second public workshop to discuss proposed amendments to the Regulation for Mobile Cargo Handling Equipment at Ports and Intermodal Rail Yards. The meeting will be held: Wednesday, February 23, 2011 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon CalEPA Headquarters Building Byron Sher Auditorium, 2nd Floor 1001 I St. Sacramento, CA 95814 The workshop will be available via webcast at the following link: http://epanet.ca.gov/Broadcast/ Cargo handling equipment is used to transfer goods or perform maintenance and repair activities and includes equipment such as yard trucks (hostlers), rubber-tired gantry cranes, top handlers, side handlers, forklifts, and loaders, just to name a few. The Regulation for Mobile Cargo Handling Equipment at Ports and Intermodal Rail Yards was adopted in December 2005 to reduce diesel particulate matter in communities located near ports and intermodal rail yards.
