arbcombo -- Extensions of ECS Purifilter Systems

Extension of Engine Control Systems (ECS) Purifilter PlusTM and PurifilterTM Systems for On-Road Applications . The Air Resources Board (ARB) granted an extension for ECS Limited’s Purifilter PlusTM and PurifilterTM Systems to include an upgraded backpressure monitor design. The extension for Purifilter also includes certain on-road engines with model years 1996 and 1997, certified by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (federal engines). The approved federal engines are certified to particulate matter emission levels equal to or less than 0.1 grams per brake horsepower-hour, and are not certified with exhaust gas recirculation. Purifilter PlusTM and PurifilterTM both include a catalyzed silicon carbide wall-flow filter for passive regeneration. Purifilter PlusTM also includes electric heating elements for active regeneration. Both systems achieve at least an 85 percent reduction in emissions of diesel particulate matter.
