arbcombo -- Mandatory Commercial Recycling Regulation
Posted: 22 Jun 2011 15:12:24
CalRecycle staff is conducting a workshop to seek stakeholder input on the proposed AB 32 Mandatory Commercial Recycling regulation. The proposed mandatory commercial recycling regulation will reduce greenhouse gases by focusing waste reduction within the commercial sector and requiring businesses and multifamily units of 5 units or more that produce more than four cubic yards of solid waste per week to recycle. Recycled materials can include, but are not limited to paper, plastics, glass, metals, cardboard, organics, food waste, and construction and demolition materials. The GHG emissions reductions goal for this measure is estimated to be 5 MMTCO2E. At the workshop, staff will present the results of additional economic analyses done for the proposed regulation and changes to the regulatory language since the January 19, 2011 workshop. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, from 1:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. in the Byron Sher Auditorium located at CalEPA, 1001 I Street, Sacramento, CA 95814. Participation via webcast will be available. The Draft Proposed Regulation and Summary of the Proposed Regulation will be posted to CalRecycle's website prior to the workshop. Additional information, including the slides of the presentation and information regarding the webcast of the workshop, will also be posted prior to the workshop at the following website: http://calrecycle.ca.gov/Climate/Recycling/default.htm You are receiving this single arbcombo email because you are a subscriber to or have made a public comment to one or more of the following lists: cc, localaction.
