The California Air Resources Board (ARB) has posted Mobile Source Mail-Outs #MSC 11-20, 11-21, and 11-22. Mail-Outs #MSC 11-20 and 11-21 state that the ARB will allow fleet operators to exclude large spark ignition (LSI) engine powered equipment from their fleet average emission level (FAEL) standards calculations until April 16, 2012, if either the piece of equipment is powered by an engine with a displacement greater than three liters or the equipment is part of a fully emission controlled late model year fleet, respectively. Mail-Out #MSC 11-22 states that the ARB will allow fleet operators to exclude limited hours of use LSI equipment from their FAEL standards calculations.
