tru -- Correction – CARB Verified Level 3 DPFs for Reefer Engines

CARB staff indicated in the previous email to the Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU or reefer) List Serve that model year 2004 “and newer” TRU engines must meet the Ultra-Low-Emission TRU (ULETRU) in-use performance standards by December 31, 2011. Correction: Model year 2004 TRU engines that are rated at 25 horsepower and greater must meet the ULETRU in-use performance standards by December 31, 2011. Model year 2004 TRU engines that are rated at less than 25 horsepower must meet either the Low-Emission TRU (LETRU) or the ULETRU in-use performance standards by December 31, 2011. Model year 2005 and newer TRU engines in all horsepower categories must meet ULETRU by December 31st of the seventh year after the engine model year.
