arbcombo -- Workshop to Discuss Development of Discrete Early Actions for Global Warming
Posted: 19 Mar 2007 09:06:05
The Air Resources Board (ARB) staff invites you to participate in the second public workshop to discuss the development of recommendations for discrete early actions as called for under the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006, also known as Assembly Bill 32 (AB 32). Specifically, AB 32 requires ARB to publish a list of discrete early actions by June 30, 2007 with the objective of reducing emissions of greenhouse gases prior to the development and implementation of the broader program. The recommended discrete early actions are to be developed into regulations that are technologically feasible, cost-effective, as well as enforceable by January 1, 2010. The workshop will cover developments regarding the identification of discrete early action strategies that have taken place since the first public workshop held on January 22, 2007. As part of the discussion, ARB staff will review the requirements for discrete early actions, the evaluation process, the status of recommendations, as well as the remaining milestones. The workshop will be held at the following time and location: Date: April 23, 2007 Time: 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time) Location: Byron Sher Auditorium Address: Cal/EPA Headquarters 1001 “I” Street Sacramento, CA 95814 Additional materials for the workshop will be posted prior to the meeting at the ARB’s Climate Change website ( http://www.arb.ca.gov/cc/cc.htm ) and made available in hard copy at the meeting. At this website you may also join our electronic mailing list to receive further notices of ARB activities and public meetings related to the implementation of AB 32.
