arbcombo -- ARB Prop 1B: Goods Movement Incentives Workshop

Posted: 03 Nov 2011 15:27:48
ARB staff will hold a public workshop on November 14, 2011, in
Sacramento to discuss staff’s preliminary recommendations for
$100 million in funding awards for projects to reduce freight
emissions. This workshop will also be webcast. The workshop
notice is available at
http://www.arb.ca.gov/bonds/gmbond/gmbond.htm.

The purpose of the workshop is to get public input on staff’s
recommended funding priorities.

Background: The Goods Movement Emission Reduction Program is a
partnership between the State Air Resources Board (ARB) and local
agencies (like air districts, ports, and transportation agencies)
to quickly reduce air pollution emissions and health risk from
freight movement along California's trade corridors. ARB
provides funding to eligible agencies; those agencies then offer
financial incentives to owners of equipment used in freight
movement to upgrade to cleaner technologies.
