carpa -- Free Training Opportunity - Air Monitoring for Emergencies

US EPA is sponsoring 'Air Monitoring for Emergency Response' March 20-21, 2012 at Hamilton Field in Novato, CA. This 2-day course instructs participants in monitoring airborne hazardous materials and is designed for personnel who evaluate airborne releases of hazardous materials. Topics include air monitoring programs, techniques and equipment; instrument calibration and limitations; exposure guidelines; air dispersion modeling; and health-and-safety considerations. The course is tuition free for federal, State, local, and tribal personnel, as well as for university staff or students. Personnel not directly employed by a government agency pay tuition of $300.
