schoolbus -- Transfer of Proposition 1B Funds Posted: 04 Oct 2012 14:40:52
Senate Bill 1018 allows Proposition 1B funds to be transferred on or before January 1, 2013, to another local air district that demonstrates an ability to expend the funds by January 1, 2014. The California Air Resources Board (ARB) has worked with the California Air Pollution Control Officers Association to establish the list of recipient air districts. The ARB has posted a listing of the air districts transferring Proposition 1B funds and air districts receiving those funds on the School Bus Retrofit and Replacement Account web page located at: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/schoolbus/schoolbus.htm . Additionally the ARB Proposition 1B School Bus Distribution of Bond Funds table has been updated to reflect funds to be transferred and is located at: http://www.arb.ca.gov/bonds/schoolbus/documents/lesbpinstallments.pdf If you have questions regarding the transfer of these funds, please contact Ms. Lisa Jennings, Air Pollution Specialist, at (916) 322-6913 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org Background: The primary goal of the ARB's Lower-Emission School Bus Program is to reduce school children's exposure to both cancer-causing and smog-forming pollution. The program provides grant funding for new, safer school buses and to put air pollution control equipment (i.e., retrofit devices) on buses that are already on the road.
