arbcombo -- Proposition 1B/Goods Movement Program – Proposed 2013 Funding Awards and Updates to Guidelines for Implementation

Posted: 16 Jul 2013 09:06:35
The ARB staff has posted the Staff Report for the Proposition 1B:
Goods Movement Emission Reduction Program’s proposed 2013
funding awards and updates to the Program Guidelines for
Implementation. Staff is recommending that the Board award $154
million in funds from the Program’s Fiscal Year 2013-14 (Year 4)
allocation. Staff is also recommending limited revisions to the
Guidelines and outlining changes to the grant process within the
Guidelines.

These proposed 2013 funding awards and Guidelines updates will be
considered at a public meeting scheduled for July 25, 2013 in
Sacramento. The Board Meeting Notice and accompanying Staff
Report are available on the Program website
at:http://www.arb.ca.gov/gmbond. Alternatively, paper copies may
also be obtained from the Air Resources Board’s Public
Information Office, 1001 I Street, Visitors and Environmental
Services Center, 1st Floor, Sacramento, California 95814, or by
calling (916) 322-2990.

Background: The Proposition 1B: Goods Movement Emission
Reduction Program is a partnership between the State Air
Resources Board (ARB) and local agencies (like air districts and
ports) to quickly reduce air pollution emissions and health risk
from freight movement along California’s trade corridors. ARB
provides funding to eligible agencies; those agencies then offer
financial incentives to owners of equipment used in freight
movement to upgrade to cleaner technologies.
