schoolbus -- Lower-Emission School Bus Program Mail-Out #MSC 13-21 Transferring Ownership and Terminating a Contract for a Grant-Funded School Bus Posted: 03 Sep 2013 15:39:23
The California Air Resources Board (ARB) has posted Mail-Out #MSC 13-21, titled “The Lower-Emission School Bus Program – Guidance for Transferring Ownership and Terminating a Contract For a Grant-Funded School Bus.” Date: This mail-out provides guidance for transferring ownership of grant-funded school buses (retrofitted or replaced) prior to completing the ownership and operation time period required by contract and for terminating the contract for grant-funded school buses prior to completing the ownership and operation time period required by contract. Occasionally ownership of school buses may need to change to accommodate fluctuations in student populations, ridership, school bus routes, walking distances, and school closures. The Mail-Out may be found on ARB’s webpage at: http://www.arb.ca.gov/bonds/schoolbus/advisory/advisory.htm . For more information about the Lower-Emission School Bus Program, please go to: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/schoolbus/schoolbus.htm . If you have questions regarding this Mail-Out, please contact Ms. Lisa Jennings, Air Pollution Specialist, at (916) 322-6913, or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org . Background: The primary goal of the ARB's Lower-Emission School Bus Program is to reduce school children's exposure to both cancer-causing and smog-forming pollution. The program provides grant funding for new, safer school buses and to put air pollution control equipment (i.e., retrofit devices) on buses that are already on the road.
