Media Advisory: Zero Emission Vehicles featured at CalEPA
building

Sacramento — A variety of commercial and personal zero emission
vehicles (ZEVs) will be on display around the CalEPA building for
the second Governor’s ZEV Summit. This gathering is a forum to
discuss the state of zero emission technology and the ZEV
market.

The actual summit is invitation only. However, representatives
will be available to discuss the purpose of the event and
describe the latest technology.

What: 2nd Governor’s ZEV Summit

Where: CalEPA building, 1001 I Street (10th & I), Sacramento

When: 9 AM-4:30 PM, Friday, March 07, 2014

Who: This event is arranged on behalf of Governor Jerry Brown,
and brings together representatives of government,
non-governmental organizations and industry.

Why: The market for ZEVs is rapidly developing and is critical to
California’s efforts to reduce pollution and greenhouse gas
emissions.

Background
California is a leader in efforts to improve public health
through cleaner air and has also become a leader in the fight to
reduce the greenhouse gas emissions accelerating climate change
worldwide. Specifically, California’s Clean Car regulations
http://bit.ly/1e7x0eg and ZEV mandate http://bit.ly/1kByKUN have
helped drive innovation and investment in the critical area of
ZEV technology. The leaders gathered at this Summit will review
progress so far and discuss means of accelerating development of
these vehicles in the context of Governor Brown’s Executive Order
3-23-2012 which mandates that 1.5 million ZEVs be on California’s
roads by 2025, and California’s recent 8 state Memorandum of
Understanding to put a minimum of 3.3 million ZEVs on the road
nationally by the same date http://bit.ly/1a1JnVQ.
